Principles of merchandise for Macmillan Professionals

As a Macmillan Professional, Macmillan is committed to ensuring that you have everything you need to enable you to represent and feel supported by Macmillan in your role. By using Macmillan Orders we hope that you can access the branded materials you need in an easy and straightforward manner.

Before you start placing any orders we hope you'll read the helpful tips on this page. These guidelines have been created to help make the ordering process smooth and efficient, and to encourage the responsible and appropriate use of our branded resources.

Mindful spending

Every item on Macmillan Orders has been procured through Macmillan's charitable income, which has been made possible directly as a result of our supporters' fundraising efforts. Each resource has a real cost attached to it.

As you are not expected to pay for the materials you use, please order these thoughtfully. Before placing an order, please stop and think: Do I really need this item? If so, how often do I need to order it? Can I place fewer orders at regular intervals to reduce fulfilment costs?

Check item descriptions

Our product pages contain helpful information about the intended use of our resources.

Before placing an order, please read this information thoroughly and double check that the way you wish to use a resource aligns with its intended purpose. A lot of the resources on Macmillan Orders should only be used for promoting your service or branding yourself as a Macmillan Professional. Most of our resources are not intended to be given away (for example, to service users) for free.

Be sure to check item quantities, especially for items that come in packs.

Taking the time to review your order before you place it can save time later, and may help avoid queries or delays.

Manual order checks

All orders placed by Macmillan Professionals are reviewed by Macmillan's Business Operations team. When submitting your order you will be asked to provide some information about how you wish to use the resources you've requested. When completing this section please enter as much detail as possible, to make sure that everything is clear and accurately recorded.

Ordering for other professionals

If you're placing an order on behalf of more than one Macmillan Professional in your team, please provide as much detail as possible when submitting the reason for your order (including the number of posts the order covers). This will enable our Business Operations team to check your order much more effectively.

Please note that our clothing items and accessories (such as lanyards) should only be used by Macmillan Professionals in your team.

Events and conferences

We understand that as a Macmillan Professional you may want to run or attend events or conferences which relate to your role. We appreciate that for these events you may want to order stationery which highlights your or your service's relationship with Macmillan.

On these occasions please only order items that you intend for people to use during the event itself (such as having branded pens or notepads for use at conference tables). Please avoid ordering items to give to people in "goodie bags", following the event.

Fundraising items

Our collection buckets and tins and our badge and trolley keyring CDUs should only be used for the purpose of static fundraising at your permanent place of work. These items are intended to support you in ongoing fundraising activities specifically in your role as a Macmillan Professional (for example, by being placed in a cancer information centre or at a reception desk).

We appreciate that you may wish to engage in your own individual fundraising activities (such as joining one of our Mighty Hikes). In these instances we kindly ask that you contact our Supporter Care Hub, so that our colleagues can provide the best possible support.

Our Supporter Care Hub can be reached either by e-mail via fundraising@macmillan.org.uk or by calling 0300 1000 200 (any time between 09:30 and 16:30, Monday to Friday).

Delivery issues

Please double check the address against your order before submitting it.

Our couriers can only guarantee delivery to central "Goods in" locations or post rooms at larger sites, such as hospitals. If necessary, please liaise with any colleagues about how to format your delivery address before placing your order. Orders missing a department name or floor number may be lost internally upon receipt.

When your order is despatched you will receive a despatch confirmation e-mail with a link to the tracking portal for the courier that delivered this order. If you cannot find your order upon delivery, or if you have not received a delivery confirmation e-mail, please first check the relevant tracking portal for helpful guidance on the status of your order, or for any photos taken as proof of delivery.
